The parking at Van Der Stel station is safe. Whilst there are no formal car guards on duty, the station security, as well as the position of the car park, ensure cars are safe.

We do allow passengers to board at stations along the way if this is pre-arranged. It should be noted that we cannot guarantee our arrival time at the en-route stations due to potential delays. In general, we do not stop at most stations given the security constraints at these stations. On our Elgin Railway Market trips we always stop at Van Der Stel Station in Somerset West.
